Book Description

In nineteen minutes, you can mow the front lawn, color your hair, watch a third of a hockey game. In nineteen minutes, you can bake scones or get a tooth filled by a dentist; you can fold laundry for a family of five….In nineteen minutes, you can stop the world, or you can just jump off it. In nineteen minutes, you can get revenge.

Sterling is a small, ordinary New Hampshire town where nothing ever happens — until the day its complacency is shattered by a shocking act of violence. In the aftermath, the town’s residents must not only seek justice in order to begin healing but also come to terms with the role they played in the tragedy. For them, the lines between truth and fiction, right and wrong, insider and outsider have been obscured forever. Josie Cormier, the teenage daughter of the judge sitting on the case, could be the state’s best witness, but she can’t remember what happened in front of her own eyes. And as the trial progresses, fault lines between the high school and the adult community begin to show, destroying the closest of friendships and families.

My thoughts

I honestly… Honestly!! think I just found my favorite book. I’m staring at my screen for the longest time just trying to put what I think of this book and why its my favorite. Lets start with when I bought the book, I thought this is a chick flick romance with a thriller, reading the cover description got me more interested. Started reading this book and its like each page takes you in one page at a time until your done reading half of it and cant stop, I remember when I read it I didn’t eat, drink, blink for 5 or 7 hours. This book got me emotional on so many levels, its just so sad, and so unfair.

I am assuming you haven’t read the book so I don’t want to give away any spoiler at all because I love this book so much and I want everyone to read it. This book came out 2007, I read this book this week and it is sooo related and so informative even to this day!!! If you are a teacher, a parent, a student, a lover, a family member READ THIS RIGHT NOW!!!

Let me know your thoughts about this book, because I need someone to talk to about it lol
