Book Description

At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State — and she would do it alone.
Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her.

My thoughts

I can’t express my emotions about this book, the way it was written, the adventure, everything about this book just makes me love it soo much!! I loved the writing of this book. Honestly, it motivated me to go on a walk whenever I feel I need fresh air. This book gave me the imagination of the trail, keep in mind I never knew about this trail and never knew how it looks like. The people she meets, the flashback she has, the problems she describes and goes through are just very interesting to read. I can never imagine losing my mother, and how I would feel about it… sometimes I cried reading some things she says about family. The ending was amazing, made me very happy for her.

Lets get clear on somethings, I wasn’t interested in reading this book just because of the reviews I read on Goodreads I’ll quote this one for example: “memoir written by a woman who loses her mother and then promptly takes up heroin and cheating on her sweet husband (who she loves very much). She then decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail despite zero hiking/wilderness experience.” Since I never went through anything like this I judged this book, but then decided to read it because I needed a book at the time so I just garbed it and I’m so glad I did. It gave me lots of knowledge about a lot of things.

Let me know your thoughts about this book, because I need someone to talk to about it lol

I give this book 4.5 stars!!!
